Counseling appointments in January are limited to the following reasons:
Financial Aid Appeals
Readmittance from Dismissal
Out-of-District Transcript Evaluations
To book an appointment for one of these reasons, please call (510) 464-3326 or visit the Counseling Department in the Laney Tower, Room T-301.
For all other counseling needs (Student Ed Plans, Degree/Certificate Petitions, Transfer/Career Counseling), regular appointments will resume on Monday, February 2.
Until then, students can still drop in at T-301 during posted hours or visit our online chat lobby, which resumes Monday, January 12.
No appointment needed—just ask for “Technology Onboarding.”

Oakland Parks, Recreation & Youth Development (OPRYD) Is Hiring
The City of Oakland Parks, Recreation & Youth Development is now hiring for 2026 part-time positions in recreation, sports, and aquatics.
Open roles include Recreation Aide, Recreation Leader, Sports Official, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Pool Manager, and more.
These positions offer flexible schedules, paid training, and hands-on experience working with youth and the community.
